How we work

Avinyum’s methodology prioritises rigorous problem discovery and ecosystem stewardship. We nurture platform-driven ecosystems through evidence-led design, stakeholder-informed policy support, open digital public goods, and iterative pilots that translate validated problems into durable systems.

01

Problem Discovery & Definition

Avinyum begins every initiative by rigorously identifying and validating the core problems an ecosystem faces. Through rapid scans, lived-experience interviews, systems mapping and prioritisation, we produce concise problem statements and testable hypotheses that guide co-design, pilots and policy.

02

Ecosystem Mapping & Diagnostics

  • Identify actors (e.g, government, civil society, startups, funders, athletes )

  • Map incentives, flows, friction points and governance gaps

  • Produce an ecosystem map that highlights leverage points

03

Convening & Collaboration

  • Launch multi-stakeholder platforms and communities of practice

  • Host participatory co-design workshops to surface needs and build buy-in

  • Act as neutral convener to align incentives and mediates conflicts

04

Ecosystem-Driven Research & Foresight

  • Research interdependencies (e.g., how the problem statement, tech, and governance interact)

  • Conduct future scans on relevant tech (AI, identity, privacy) to inform resilient design

05

Policy & Institutional Design

  • Facilitate stakeholder-informed policy design, standards, and institutional mechanisms.

  • Prioritise frameworks that are interoperable, enforceable and institutionally durable

06

Capacity Building & Network Strengthening

  • Create toolkits, training modules and secondment/mentorship programs

  • Build local champions and communities of practice

07

Technology as Public Infrastructure

  • Develop open, interoperable digital public goods (registries, grievance channels, dashboards)

  • Ensure multilingual access, privacy-by-design, and low-bandwidth usability

08

Piloting & Ecosystem Testing

  • Run pilots as ecosystem exercises (not isolated tests)

  • Test hypotheses from Step 0; collect cross-stakeholder feedback to iterate

  • Maintain adaptive governance: update tools, policies and partnerships based on evidence

  • Advocacy & Scale-Out
